The Federal Government and the Need for Foreign Languages

It looks like some people in the federal government are finally realizing the benefits of having a workforce with foreign language skills.  Of course, if the government, public schools and universities would stop cutting foreign language programs, perhaps we might be able to have well-trained applicants to fill the those positions.  Here’s the link to a Hearing of the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee on May 21, 2012 on “A National Security Crisis:  Foreign Language Capabilities in the Federal Government.”
